What are the cons of a bezel setting?

THE ANSWER

The metal rim blocks light from entering the diamond's sides. Most sparkle comes from the top, but a bezel can reduce overall brilliance compared to prongs. Light can't hit the stone from all angles. Bezel settings are also harder to clean. Dirt gets trapped behind the setting where a toothbrush can't reach. The bezel hides the diamond's side profile too. If you've invested in a beautiful cut or intricate shape, the metal covers a significant portion of the stone.

NEXT STEP

Compare bezel styles in the collection, or review the custom process if you want a lower-profile ring built around your preferred shape.
