HOW TO CLEAN A CLOUDY ENGAGEMENT RING?

THE ANSWER

A cloudy ring is usually just dirty. Soak it in warm water with dish soap for thirty minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to clean around and underneath the stone. The cloudiness is often a layer of lotion, skin oils, and soap buildup sitting behind the diamond. Once you remove that film, light passes through again. The stone looks clear. If cleaning does not fix it, the cloudiness might be inside the stone itself. Some diamonds have internal inclusions that create a milky look. A jeweller can check for you. But nine times out of ten, a good clean solves it.
