Our lab-grown diamonds come with an IGI grading report. GIA-graded diamonds are available on request. We check every stone before it is set. Moissanite is a different gemstone, so this grading applies only to our lab-grown diamonds.

What is a solitaire engagement ring?
One centre stone on a band with no other stones. "Solitaire" names the stone arrangement, not the setting, so claws, a bezel, a basket and cathedral shoulders can all be solitaires.
A diamond is the stone and a solitaire is the style: ours hold an IGI-graded lab-grown diamond or moissanite, and GIA-graded diamonds are available on request. Round and oval solitaires are the rings our customers order most.

How much does a solitaire engagement ring cost?
From $2,950 complete with a 1 carat IGI lab-grown diamond in 18k gold, $4,250 with 2 carats and $6,900 with 3 carats, or from $1,910 with moissanite in 14k gold. The setting alone starts at $1,260 in 14k gold. Every complete ring has an E to F colour, VVS1 clarity centre diamond, checked on 28 October 2026.

On the Hailey setting, a 2mm band adds $100, 2.5mm $300 and 3mm $500, and cathedral shoulders add $150.
Four claws or six?
Four claws show more of the stone, and they are what our listed solitaires use, with eagle or round tips. Six claws hold the stone at more points, so it stays held if one claw wears. Our guides to whether four prongs are enough and four vs six prongs compare them.
How wide should a solitaire band be?
Our bands start at 1.8mm, which makes the centre stone look larger and sits easily beside a wedding band; 2.5 to 3mm feels more solid on the hand. Compare them in our thin band and thick band collections, and we show you the band in a 3D design before anything is made.
Basket, cathedral or bezel: what is the difference?
A basket joins the claws under the stone with a rail; cathedral shoulders rise from the band to meet the head; a bezel wraps the stone in a rim of metal instead of claws. For a ring that sits closer to the finger, see our low profile engagement rings.
Which of our solitaires have no other stones?

Will a wedding band sit flush against a solitaire?
A straight band sits flush when the head clears it, and every listed solitaire comes with a choice of low or high setting, which changes that gap. If you want a band shaped to sit against your ring, we model it in CAD against the engagement ring before anything is made. How does designing a solitaire with us work?
Pick a design above or bring your own idea, talk it through with Brie by video, phone or email, and approve a 3D design before it is made by our jewellers in Melbourne and Auckland. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to make after you approve the design, and we have no showroom, so every consultation is online: book a video consultation.
