3 Carat Emerald Cut Lab Grown Diamond Price

A 3 carat emerald cut lab-grown diamond costs about $2,510 to $5,550 as a loose stone in Australia, with a median of $3,499. That is the middle 80% of the 29 emerald cuts between 3.00 and 3.09 carats on our live feed on 17 September 2026. Every stone is D to F colour, VS1 clarity or better, and IGI certified.

Set in a finished engagement ring, a 3 carat emerald cut costs $6,900 to $7,900 in 18k gold, or $6,950 to $8,050 in platinum. Those are the fixed prices of our eight complete 3 carat emerald rings, each made with a 3.00 to 3.09ct, E to F colour, VVS1 clarity centre stone.

4 stones listed at more than twice the median for their group are left out of the price ranges, because they are priced far above stones of the same weight and grade.

A 3 carat emerald cut measures about 9.9mm by 6.7mm. The ten stones just under 3 carats had a median of $2,785, about $710 less than the 3 carat group, a 20% saving and the steepest round-number premium of the three 3 carat shapes. Price per carat fell from $1,151 to $937. Going up helped a little too: the few stones between 3.10 and 3.19ct had a median of $3,449.

A lot, and on this shape it matters for how the stone looks as well as how it grades:

VVS2 cost about $310 more than VS1 at the median, and VVS1 about $1,890 more than VVS2. An emerald cut shows its inside through a large open table, and a 3 carat table is big enough that an inclusion in a VS1 stone is more likely to be seen. VVS2 is the value point here: clean through the table, without the VVS1 jump.

At both VS1 and VVS2, stones just under 3 carats were a few hundred dollars cheaper. Colour moved the price again: F colour had a median of $2,642, well below D at $3,662 and E at $4,900.

A 3 carat emerald cut covers about 66 square millimetres from above, against about 51 for a 2 carat emerald. It reads long and elegant rather than wide, and most 3 carat emerald cuts on the feed had a ratio between 1.40 and 1.50. Within that, the 1.40 stones had the lowest median at $2,642.

At that stone grade, a loose 3 carat emerald cut runs $3,426 to $7,291 on its own, with a median of $4,913. The solitaire and east-west solitaire start at $6,900, and the three-stone and halo with pavé band designs run to $7,900.
