How Much Does a 2 Carat Emerald Cut Lab Grown Diamond Cost?

A 2 carat emerald cut lab-grown diamond costs about $2,360 to $3,050 as a loose stone in Australia, with a median of $2,566. That is the middle 80% of the 50 emerald cuts between 2.00 and 2.09 carats on our live feed on 17 September 2026. The full range runs from $2,207 to $4,247, and every stone is D to F colour, VS1 clarity or better, and IGI certified.

Emerald cuts reward a different kind of shopping from brilliant shapes, because their long, open facets show what is inside the stone. That changes where your money is best spent.

6 stones listed at more than twice the median for their group are left out of the price ranges, because they are priced far above stones of the same weight and grade.

A 2 carat emerald cut measures about 8.6mm by 6.0mm. Going just under 2 carats saved around $200 at the median. More useful is the step above: the 13 emerald cuts between 2.10 and 2.19ct had a median of $2,477, lower than the exact 2 carat group, for a stone that is slightly larger at 8.7mm by 6.1mm. Prices only climbed clearly past 2.20 carats.

Round numbers attract buyers, so stones that land just above 2.00 carats are priced for the label. Stones a little heavier sit outside the most searched weight, so they tend to be priced lower. Comparing like with like on the feed:

At VVS2 and VVS1, the 2.10 to 2.19ct emerald cuts had lower medians than the 2.00 to 2.09ct stones. If you are set on an emerald cut around 2 carats, asking for something between 2.10 and 2.19ct is one of the easiest ways to get more stone for the same money.

An emerald cut has a large, flat table and long step facets, like looking through a window. Inclusions that a round brilliant would hide in its sparkle can be visible here, so clarity is worth more attention than on other shapes. Among the 2 carat emerald cuts:

VVS2 cost about $80 more than VS1 at the median, and VVS1 about $270 more. For most emerald cuts, VVS2 is the sensible middle: clean enough that nothing shows through the table, without paying for the top grade. If you do look at VS1, ask to see a video of that exact stone before you commit.

Colour behaved differently. F colour stones had the lowest median at $2,425, below D at $2,535 and E at $2,686. Step cuts can show a hint of warmth in the corners, but at D to F nothing reads as tinted, so F is where the value sits.

About the same as a 2 carat round from above. An emerald cut covers roughly 8.6mm by 6.0mm, while a round of the same weight is about 8.2mm across.
